About the Academy

  • Why did you build this Academy?

    I’ve had an incredible career in restaurant HR, and I’m on a mission to help as many restaurants as possible achieve massive success. When HR is done right, the impact is transformative. I created this Academy to support restaurant HR leaders worldwide in building simple systems and processes while developing exceptional leaders. This is a resource I know would have made my life so much easier as I grew in my own career. As cliché as it may sound, when restaurants get HR and leadership right, they have the power to change the world—one person at a time.

    If you’re an HR, payroll, or talent acquisition professional working in the restaurant industry, and you want access to top-tier resources, training, coaching, and proven people management systems and processes, the Academy is for you!

  • What's your connection to Restaurant HR Group?

    I’m the Founder and CEO of Restaurant HR Group, an HR outsourcing solution that provides simple, effective HR, payroll, and benefits services to restaurants nationwide. HR professionals who enroll in the Academy gain insider knowledge from my nearly 30 years in the restaurant HR industry.

Enrollment & Access

  • Do I need a college degree in Human Resources to enroll in the Academy?

    Not at all! In my experience, many restaurant HR professionals don’t have a formal HR education and receive limited training after being hired. This often leaves them without the tools they need to tackle the unique challenges of the restaurant industry. The Academy is designed to bridge that gap and help both HR professionals and the restaurants they support excel.

  • How do I enroll?

    Click here to learn more about the Academy benefits. You can choose from two individual enrollment options: monthly or annual.

    If you are part of a restaurant group supported by Restaurant HR Group or employed at Restaurant HR Group, your tuition may already be covered! Contact your HR Leader for more info.

    If you'd like to enroll in the Academy's training and content for your managers and teams, please get in touch with us to take advantage of our group rates.

  • Are there any technical requirements?

    For the best Academy experience, we recommend taking all courses on a laptop or desktop. All you need is an internet connection and a modern web browser like Chrome, Safari, or Firefox—no special software required!

    TIP: If you’re unable to see discussion posts or the navigation pane when inside a course, try adjusting (decreasing) your screen size or zoom settings.

  • I can’t access any of the products. What should I do?

    First, make sure you are signed into your Academy account. If you are a Restaurant HR Group client or employee, you should have access to all resources, and signing in will fix the problem.

    If you are not an RHR client or employee and haven’t selected an enrollment plan, you’ll need to complete the enrollment process. You can review the available plans and sign up here: Join the Academy.

    Absolutely! We're just getting started. 😊 Be sure to sign up for our HR Takeout email list at the top of this page to stay updated.

  • I want my managers to attend only the live training sessions. Can I limit their access to other courses and Academy resources?

    No, all enrolled students receive full access to the Academy, including unlimited courses, downloads, and live training sessions. We are unable to customize or restrict access to specific content.

    However, you can set internal guidelines on which courses your managers should take. If you prefer, we can also remove select students from the RHR Insider email list to minimize notifications about additional Academy offerings. Alternatively, you might consider enrolling only senior managers or HR leaders, who can then use Academy content to develop internal training materials tailored specifically for your managers.
